“One of the biggest issues we face is our aging demographic and the impending healthcare crisis it poses. The baby boom cohort has driven a range of innovations — from pablum to disposable diapers. Now, as they juggle child and elder care, they’re finding the healthcare system isn’t serving their needs and must change. Our 19th century acute care model must adapt to enable care where and when it’s needed. To meet increased demands, we need to adopt disruptive innovations — from digital technologies to artificial intelligence — to move care out of hospitals and into the community.”
